I'm super excited to say that I will have twice the fun this spring when I will not only be staying home with Lily but will start babysitting her newest friend Evan! What an exciting time these two will have as they will be able to grow and learn together through the coming months. If all goes well, we may even have Evan with us through the following school year!
So now I've begun looking up fun activities and different things we can try at home. I'm open to any advice or strategies you may have for a new mom taking on 2 infants :) Lily will be 6 months by then and Evan will be close to 3 months old.
It's safe to say Lily has a partner in crime!

Lily's first Laugh!
![]() |
| Evan and Lily meet for the very first time 12/8/12 |
We recently visited friends of ours who just had a beautiful baby boy name Evan. We were concerned that Lily may be cranky that evening because it was close to her bedtime when we arrived for our visit. As the evening went on, Lily was pretty bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for the most part. Not really sure if it was because we were in a new and exciting place, or if she just felt awake. My husband Will was holding her while "Uncle" Eric played peek-a-boo games with her and just as Krista and I were in mid conversation, out came a loud "Heh, heh, heh"! We all stopped and looked at each other with disbelief, did we really just hear what we thought we heard? I teared up and said, "she just laughed for the first time ever!"
It was such an amazing night, I remember Will and I going home and trying to make her laugh over and over again, but apparently we weren't as funny as Uncle Eric...... I'm sure she will surprise us again when we aren't expecting it.
I would love to hear stories of other first laughs!

Operation Kid Comfort
Operation Kid Comfort is a program of the Armed Services YMCA. Volunteers create a quilt for a child of a service man or woman who is currently over seas. The quilt kit is put together before hand and includes pictures of the family as well as the child. It's a very heartwarming program because of the benefit it carries for the children with parents in the military. Check out the link to their website and share this with someone you may know who could participate.

If you or someone you know has used this organization, please share your story! This is something we recently showcased at the Schweinfurth Art Gallery in Auburn, NY.

Welcome to Lilies in Bloom!
Happy Holidays from my family to yours! Seeing as this is my first post on our blog, I would like to take a minute to introduce my family:
My name is Lindsey and I am a new mom. My daughter Lily was born September 2, 2012. She is my inspiration for this blog.
This is my husband Will, he is my rock and my biggest supporter! (He's also pretty cute too)
Lily: Any of the various plants of the genus Lilium, having variously colored, often trumpet-shaped flowers.
January 7th will mark the first day of my new career as Stay at Home Mom! I can't wait for this exciting adventure, and will most likely need the help of other moms out there. I couldn't ask for a more supportive family and friends. It is sad to leave the ladies I worked with at the Schweinfurth Art Center but they are just as excited as I am and Lily will be able to make so many memories to come at the Art Center.
My aspirations for this blog are to post daily to weekly activities that we do as well as trials and tribulations of other craziness that I'm sure will happen along the way. Making this an outlet for other moms as well as a place to seek advice for myself is important. We welcome everyone to read our posts and to share as much as possible with us and with others! This is going to be one amazing learning experience.
Welcome!
